What is Cloud Computing?

Everyone if familiar with having a PC on their desk and using it as an essential tool for daily work but the infrastructure behind that PC is often the crucial factor in how efficient and secure a company is. As companies develop, as does their IT network including the cabling, switches and servers and this can often be a story of varying degrees of success.

Even where an IT network has been skilfully built and properly invested in, the day will come around when the equipment supporting that network needs to be replaced, repaired or upgraded. This constant cycle of budgetary investment is a big consideration for any business but also can be crucial elements that will hold back or, worse still, expose a business to critical threat!

Cloud computing is a means of moving the heart of your infrastructure, the server, to a secure data centre that could be (and usually is) many miles from your business where it is maintained by someone else. Essentially this means that the processing power of your server resources and your desk top machines, is being provided as a dynamic service rather than through direct hardware purchase.

So dynamic cloud services can provide a company, whether large or small, with the latest technology today and everyday together with constant security and resilience. Such benefits can make any company more efficient, better protected from malicious attack, provide more secure data storage and eliminate the need for large capital outlay for IT equipment.

MyHosted Desktop is a cutting edge service provision utilising private storage resources within one of the South’s most advanced data centres. With the cost of providing a hosted desktop solution from just £45 per seat (exl. VAT) such advanced systems fall within the reach of most businesses.
