WEEE "Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment"
What are the WEEE regulations?
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations (2006 No. 3289) (WEEE) is UK legislation designed to address the environmental impact of waste electrical and electronic equipment.
The regulations have been put in place to ensure that electrical and electronic products are recycled using best available treatment, recovery and recycling techniques to ensure human health and high environmental protection.
Both CCC IT Solutions and our customers must assist in recycling waste electrical and electronic equipment and ensure that the legislation is properly adhered to. Where customers are buying equipment from CCC IT Solutions we will arrange the disposal of like-for-like equipment so, for example, where a customer orders say, 5 workstations from us, we will arrange – free of charge – the disposal of 5 existing workstations. CCC IT Solutions will undertake our responsibility as a reseller to dispose of these goods in line with European legislation.
If your business has IT equipment to dispose of and you are not buying new replacement devices from us then we can still assist with our IT Recycling Service. Depending upon the type of equipment and quantities this service is often free. See our IT Recycling Service page for more information.
How do I know if my product is covered?
Look out for this symbol:
 |
If the symbol shown here is found on any of your goods, it means that the product is covered by the WEEE Regulations therefore should be disposed of separately from normal household waste so it can be recycled. When you have finished with a WEEE product, please do not put in your domestic waste bin, as it will not be recycled.
