IT Equipment Disposal

IT equipment disposalIT Equipment Disposal must comply with The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations (2006 No. 3289) (WEEE). WEEE is a UK legislation designed to address the environmental impact of waste electrical and electronic equipment.

The regulations on IT equipment disposal have been put in place to ensure that electrical and electronic products are recycled using best available treatment, recovery and recycling techniques. This is to ensure human health and high environmental protection.

Both CCC IT Solutions and our customers must assist in recycling waste electrical and electronic equipment and ensure that the legislation is properly adhered to. We can arrange your IT equipment disposal for you as part of an installation or project, or as a pre-arranged standalone service, for a nominal fee.

As part of a hardware purchase

If customers are buying equipment from CCC IT Solutions we will arrange the disposal of your like-for-like equipment. For an example, when a customer orders 5 workstations from us, we will arrange, free of charge, the disposal of 5 existing workstations. We will undertake the responsibility as a reseller to dispose of these goods in line with European legislation. We can also wipe and reformat legacy hard drives prior to disposal, to ensure deletion of any sensitive data (this is an extra service and will incur a pre-arranged nominal fee) you are then issued a Certificate of Destruction for your records.

As a standalone service

Does your business has IT equipment to dispose of? Are you not planning on buying new replacement devices from us? Then we can still assist with our IT Recycling Service.

Depending upon the type of equipment and quantities this service is often free. Our customers can simply call or email us with a list of items to be disposed. We will then email you back a disposal quote. We will then arrange a date and time for collection. Once the disposal is completed, you are issued a Certificate of Destruction for your records.
